Update: DACA, travel ban

The new federal administration issued a directive intended to preserve and support the DACA program.

The new federal administration has issued directives intended to preserve and support the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program and also to rescind travel bans implemented by the previous administration affecting individuals from certain countries.

A presidential memorandum on the DACA program is available here. It directs the Department of Homeland Security, in consultation with the attorney general, to take all appropriate action to preserve and fortify DACA.

The president’s proclamation rescinding the travel bans is available here. It also instructs the State Department to restart visa processing for affected countries.

Stanford has been active in support of our community on both issues over the last several years. Resources and contact information continue to be available on this website for individuals in the Stanford community who have questions or need assistance.
